A one-time cartoonist,Ed Brubakerhas been working as a writer since the early 1990s, and in that time his work has won several awards, including both the Harvey and Eisner Awards for Best Writer in 2007, and has been translated around the world. His comics credits includeBatman, Catwoman, Gotham Central,andSleeperfor DC Comics and Daredevil, Captain America, and Criminal for Marvel. He lives and works in Seattle, Washington, with his wife, Melanie, and many pets.
Darwyn Cookewas an Eisner Award-winning cartoonist and animator. After spending several years as a magazine art director and graphic designer, Cooke switched careers and began working in animation, where he contributed to such shows asBatman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series,andMen in Black: The Series.DC Comics then approached Cooke to write and illustrateBatman: Ego, which Cooke had pitched unsuccessfully several years earlier. The critical success of the title led to the relaunch of theCatwomanseries with writer Ed Brubaker. Cooke then spent several years writing and drawing the ambitious epicThe New Frontier. He was also the writer/artist ofBefore Watchmen: Minutemenand co-writer ofBefore Watchmen: Silk Spectre.
